Researchers in the Brain Network Laboratory

PI: Jeff AndersonJeffrey Anderson, MD PhD studied abstract mathematics and neuroscience at Northwestern University before completing residency and fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Utah. Dr. Anderson is Director of Functional Imaging at the University of Utah, and runs the Brain Network Laboratory. He is author of 2 national bestselling science thrillers, and has unsuccessfully tried for years to explain to his four children why he doesn’t do something cool like crew for the Jonas Brothers.

Michael FergusonMichael Ferguson completed his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry at Brigham Young University before studying medicine at the State University of New York. He is currently working on his PhD in bioengineering, specializing in functional imaging. He has strong interests in the neural underpinnings of social dynamics, and blogs about neuroscience at The Positive Brain.

Jared NielsenJared Nielsen is a graduate student in the Neuroscience Program at the University of Utah. Upon graduation from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in neuroscience, he joined Dr. Janet Lainhart’s autism neuroimaging lab. His work with Dr. Jeffrey Anderson is aimed at understanding abnormal functional connectivity in those with autism.
