Black Pearls
Here's my collection of mishaps and inaccuracies from Second Genesis that good readers have brought to my attention. I appreciate the tips; it definitely keeps me motivated to work that much harder on my next project to keep scientific and other errors out.
Monkey business: I certainly know better than to use imprecise language confusing apes from monkeys. In numerous passages I use "monkey" as a colloquialism to refer to the chimpanzees, which of course are apes and not monkeys at all. The error was pointed out by Kristina Krickbaum. She has a marvelous MySpace page that documents her efforts in ape conservation that you can read here. I highly recommend taking a look and apologize to ape lovers everywhere for slandering apes in general!
